Melissa and Hershel met in medical school; they happened to be randomly (or not so randomly) assigned to the same anatomy group. They became good friends, working with each other for many hours each day. One day Melissa decided to ask Hershel to join her for dinner. The request went something like this, “well…I asked 10 other people and none of them can come. I don’t want to lose this reservation. Would you want to come?" Despite Hershel being her last resort, and the neon pink shirt she decided to wear to dinner, Hershel decided to give her another chance. Eventually, they went on to successfully match at the same hospital for residency. When the time came, Hershel proposed in the Bamboo Forrest of Arashiyama, Japan. Melissa said yes! We are so excited and grateful to celebrate with all of you.
